In its July 1999 issue, Euromoney awarded Morgan Stanley five of its distinguished "1999 Awards for Excellence": "Best Investment Bank," "Best Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor," "Best Sovereign Bond House," "Best Securities Firm in the USA," and "Best Debt Underwriter in Latin America."

Morgan Stanley is the top M&A advisor in Europe and Asia, and is third in the U.S., according to Euromoney. Last year, it completed 343 transactions, amounting to a transaction value of $533 billion and a 26% market share. These attributes earned Morgan Stanley's M&A division Euromoney's 1999 award.
