In 1998, Morgan Stanley accrued three more third-team positions and one additional second-team position than in 1997. Luiz Carvalho moved from runner-up to third team, and Julio Zamora made his first appearance in the poll with a third-team position in Retailing. Beverages, Food & Tobacco 1997 runner-up Loredana Serra catapulted into first-team and second-team positions, respectively, in Beverages and Food (which were split into separate sectors this year).
