In its January/February 1998 issue, Latin Finance announced its Deals of the Year awards. Morgan Stanley received several mentions, including:

  • Corporate Bond Deal of the Year for Transportación Ferroviaria Mexicana, a $400MM two-tranche issue
  • Equity Deal of the Year for Distribución Servicios, a $227.7MM equity issue
  • Honorable Mention Equity Deal of the Year for Unibanco, a $1.07Bn equity issue
According to Latin Finance (which cited Capital DATA Bondware and Equityware and Securities Data Company), Morgan Stanley also led the 1997 Latin equity league table, ranked second in the Latin corporate bond league table, and third on the Latin M&A league table.
