Morgan Stanley Research Analysts collected 15 awards in the second annual Financial Times/StarMine World's Top Analysts Awards for the top equity analysts and brokerages.

Impressively, Morgan Stanley was one of only two firms to field more than one analyst among the top 10 across all sectors.

"For investors, 2008 was one of the most challenging years in stock market history, and it was much the same for the analysts," the editors noted. "However, as these awards show, it is not impossible for analysts to get it right in these markets - or, at least, to be more accurate and prescient than their peers."
