The Morgan Stanley Legal and Compliance Division (LCD) stood out once again among its peers through its diversity endeavors. The Firm recently garnered two awards ― the Minority Corporate Counsel Association's (MCCA) "2012 Employer of Choice Award for the Northeast Region" and Chambers USA Women in Law's "Most Female Friendly Company Award."
The MCCA Employer of Choice award was designed to spotlight industry leaders who have a commitment to and succeed at creating and maintaining an inclusive corporate legal department.
The Committee has a robust agenda, carried out through the work of 12 sub-committees, which include a summer intern program, a South African Visiting Attorney program, activities focused on the development and leadership of women in LCD and a supplier diversity initiative. The Committee also works closely with outside counsel firms and organizations, such as the MCCA, to promote leadership and diversity throughout the profession.
The MCCA award will be presented at MCCA's Diversity Honors Gala at Lincoln Center on Sept. 11, 2012, which will also recognize other outstanding law departments and industry leaders who are committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive legal department.
