Morgan Stanley Among '100 Best Companies for Working Mothers'

For the fifth consecutive year, Working Mother magazine has named Morgan Stanley one of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers." The list, published in Working Mother's October 2005 edition.
"We salute Morgan Stanley for their efforts on behalf of working mothers, and for making the 100 Best for the fifth time," said Carol Evans, CEO of Working Mother Media. Working Mother's 100 Best list recognizes the family-friendliest companies in the country, and is the most important benchmark for work/life practices in corporate America.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the magazine's annual list, asking tough questions on flexibility in the workplace. Working Mother's editors gave particular weight to questions about flexible scheduling, child-care options and time off for new parents. Morgan Stanley is one of the companies that shined in these areas, helping working mothers stay true to their jobs, their families and themselves.
In addition to recognizing other programs offered by the Firm, Working Mother took special note of Morgan Stanley's new Women's Leadership Conference. Rolled out by senior women at the Firm in 2005, Working Mother stated that the program "partners top-level females with rising stars to explore ways to boost women's leadership at the firm."
The Firm also appeared as one of New York City's "Mom-Friendly Firms" in the September 12 issue of the New York Daily News. With 19 of Working Mother's "100 Best" going to New York City firms, the city is ahead of other parts of the country on mom-friendly workplace programs, and Morgan Stanley is at the forefront of that effort.
