In the Institutional Investor All-America poll, released October 15, Morgan Stanley placed
fifth overall with 42 positions. On a weighted basis (assigning four points to first
teamers, three points to second teamers, two points to third teamers, and one point to
runners-up), Morgan Stanley placed third with a score of 101, behind Salomon Smith Barney
with 124 points and Merrill Lynch with 118 points.
