Euromoney Votes Firm Securities Lending #1 for Second Consecutive Year

The most recent issue of Euromoney announced Morgan Stanley the best and biggest equity borrower in the publication's International Securities Finance (ISF) 2002 Global Equity Lending Survey. This year is the second in a row the survey determined Morgan Stanley #1.
Some highlights of the Firm's rankings in the survey include:
- #1 Overall Borrower
- #1 in All Regions
- #1 in 10 out of 12 Categories
Distinguishing ourselves in a crowded field of over 34 competitors, Morgan Stanley placed first in the American, European and Asian regions, winning the Overall Best Global Borrower title. Of particular note were the top ratings in both Relationship Management and Global Coverage and Coordination, driven in large part by the successful rollout of our Global Client Focus Account Review Process. This process has enabled the team to get closer to the client base and their needs, assigning client ownership to both high level and day-to-day managers. The group then systematically determines areas where efficiency can be improved and where greater opportunities exist.
The ISF survey is the industry benchmark survey that reflects the critical factors that drive securities finance business. Specifically, securities lending is a market driven by size and breadth of demand, innovation and market knowledge. Being able to execute in this market requires high levels of professionalism, harnessed technology and seamless back office capabilities. Winning the survey by a sizeable margin, Morgan Stanley also placed first in these critical areas:
