Morgan Stanley Investment Management Named #3 Mutual Fund Brand in Europe

A new survey by Sector Analysis, a London based market research firm has ranked Morgan Stanley Investment Management as the 3rd most recognised mutual fund brand in Europe.

A new survey by Sector Analysis, a London based market research firm has ranked Morgan Stanley Investment Management as the 3rd most recognised mutual fund brand in Europe. This compares to 13th position in the 2001 survey, and ranks above more established firms, such as Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and UBS.
The survey ranks asset management companies according to the strength of their brand name as suppliers of third party, non proprietary mutual funds in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, the UK and Spain. Sector Analysis interviewed over 800 people from institutions that use and distribute mutual funds.
"This is a very satisfying result," said Richard Brereton, Head of European Marketing for Morgan Stanley Investment Management. "Rather than relying on advertising to build the brand, we have focused our efforts on becoming trusted partners for our distributors and providing them with the infrastructure and service levels that they require. We ensure that our clients have regular contact with fund managers, both on a one-to-one basis and through such events as our "Ideas" conferences. Add to this the strong performance and breadth of the SICAV fund range, and it is clear that our distributors now see in our mutual fund business all of the positive attributes inherent in the Morgan Stanley brand."
