Morgan Stanley Wins "Bank of the Year" From Investment Dealers' Digest
In its January 24, 2000 issue, IDD commends Morgan Stanley for its key role in many of 1999's significant transactions in M&A and equity underwriting in the U.S. and abroad, and its industry-leading position in the European marketplace.

On January 19, 2000, Investment Dealers' Digest (IDD) announced that Morgan Stanley had won its Bank of the Year award. The award was presented at IDD's second annual Breakthrough Deals of the Year reception at the Plaza Hotel in New York, and is featured in IDD's January 24th issue.
Ronald Cooper, Editor-in-Chief of Investment Dealers' Digest, stated: "In addition to building an underwriting franchise that ranks near the top of the industry, Morgan Stanley played key roles in many of 1999's most important Internet and telecommunications deals, including the domestic new issues of Equant NV and Nextel Communications and the global technology offerings of Korea Telecom and Agilent Technology."

In particular, Morgan Stanley is praised for its advisory in many of the leading Internet and technology transactions of 1999, including Healtheon, @Home, Agilent Technologies, Sycamore Networks and priceline.com.
In addition to this distinction, Morgan Stanley was honored with four Breakthrough Deals of the Year awards, as featured in the December 13th issue of IDD.
