Discovercard.com Ranks First in Online Customer Experience, Online Fraud Protection Services

Discover Financial Services' Discovercard.com recently received two industry accolades, ranking number one for online customer experience and number one for online fraud protection service and information.
According to a recent study on online consumer behavior and satisfaction performed by Keynote Systems, an Internet research group, 71 percent of participants said Discover was the easiest credit card company to deal with online, as well as the easiest credit card to apply for online.
"With more than half (52%) of study participants indicating that online account management services were very or extremely important when selecting a new credit card, credit card companies are placing greater emphasis on the online experience," said Bonny Brown, director of research at Keynote. "Those that can simplify the card application process and provide real value online will ultimately impact consumer choice."
The study evaluated the experience of 2,000 prospective credit card customers, using more than 250 criteria to analyze the leading credit card Web sites in terms of the overall customer experience and technical service issues, such as site responsiveness and reliability.
In addition, the Credit Card Monitor Report, from market-research firm Corporate Insight, named Discover "Best in Class" for its fraud information and protection services, based on the excellence and accessibility of its online fraud protection center and identity protection tools.
Discover received similar top-ranked recognition for excellence in fraud protection services among the largest credit card companies by Javelin Strategy & Research in its 2005 report.
