On September 27, 1999, Asset-Backed Alert announced that Morgan Stanley ranked first in broker/dealers for insurers' ABS
investments for the first half of 1999. This ranking continues Morgan Stanley's
first place position in 1998 as the most-active broker for that year. Morgan Stanley
managed US$1.9Bn in transactions (new issue and secondary) with insurance
companies during the first half of 1999, a 53.4% increase over the first half of
1998.
