On August 11, 1999, Institutional Investor released the results of its All-America Fixed-Income Research Team poll of fixed-income analysts in 59 categories. Morgan Stanley ranked seventh overall, with 13 analysts placing in 16 sectors on the first, second and third teams or as runners-up. In asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities, Morgan Stanley's Howard Esaki made first team, and the Morgan Stanley Investment Grade team came in with seven placings.

The survey is divided into five categories: high-grade corporate securities, high-yield corporate securities, municipals, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities, and strategy and economics. To select team members, Institutional Investor sent questionnaires covering 65 fixed-income sectors to nearly 3,000 bond specialists at 530 leading money management organizations around the world. Responses were received from 74% of the top 300 investors in fixed-income securities (as ranked in Institutional Investor's July 1998 issue).

Morgan Stanley would like to congratulate all of the analysts who achieved rankings and their teams.
