The April 1999 issue of Wall Street & Technology includes its second annual ranking of "Wall Street's finest" buy-side and sell-side CIOs. Morgan Stanley Trust's Gary Hegedus ranks No. 3 among buy-side CIOs. The magazine cites Hegedus for his "proactive approach to IT deployment" and strong IT retention record.
Hegedus' and Morgan StanleyT's specific technology achievements include deployment of AWD, a workflow management tool that enabled Morgan StanleyT offices to eliminate paper from its back office, and an annual IT turnover of less than 10% through business training for technology personnel and "development and installation of leading-edge technologies.'" He states, "Morgan StanleyT's IT Team is committed to developing innovative business solutions for our clients in an effort to provide superior service."
The rankings are based on responses to questionnaires covering IT issues from technology development to Y2K distributed to the top 53 broker/deals ranked by capital and the top 53 money managers based on assets under management.
