Firm Wins Champions of Diversity Award from NYUL

The New York Urban League presented Morgan Stanley with its Champions of Diversity award at its seventh annual awards breakfast at the Four Seasons Restaurant.

 

The New York Urban League presented Morgan Stanley with its Champions of Diversity award at its seventh annual awards breakfast at the Four Seasons Restaurant.

In addition to Morgan Stanley, other award recipients on February 8, 2010 were: Aetna, American Airlines and Major League Baseball. The NYUL presented awards in recognition of outstanding corporate citizenry and commitment to diversity, as it relates to: leadership, talent group, supplier relations and philanthropy. The NYUL believes that diversity, when embraced as a social responsibility, is the key to success.

Among the guests at the event were Mayor David Dinkins, Congressman Charles Rangel and Mistress of Ceremonies Co-Anchor, "Today in New York," WNBC-TV Darlene Rodgriguez.

This recognition builds on Diversity awards and recognition the Firm has received within the last five months:

  • In January, Professional Woman's Magazine named Morgan Stanley one of the "Top Diversity Employers for Women."
  • Also in January, The Women Presidents' Educational Organization recognized Morgan Stanley for the Firm's commitment to the success of women business enterprises.
  • The National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in January awarded Morgan Stanley the "Diversity Corporation of the Year" at its Diversity and Leadership in Financial Services Award Dinner.
  • Hispanic Network magazine in 2009 named Morgan Stanley one of the "Top Supplier Diversity Programs for Hispanics" and one of the "Top Diversity Employers for Hispanics."
  • Black EOE Journal magazine named Morgan Stanley one of the "Top Supplier Diversity Programs for African Americans" and one of the "Top Diversity Employers for African Americans."
